Acer releases first Chromebook with Core i3

Acer has announced the first Chromebooks with an Intel Core i3 in the US. It concerns two models of Acer’s Chromebook 720, which are equipped with 2GB and 4GB and will be available in the store for less than $380.

Both variants of the Chromebook 720 get a frugal Core i3-4005U: a dual-core from Intel with a standard clock speed of 1.7GHz and with 3MB L3 cache. The processor is based on the Haswell architecture and should therefore do its job economically. Acer claims that the battery life is a maximum of 8.5 hours, but it is not known how the manufacturer measured this.

In addition, both Chromebooks are equipped with 32GB SSDs.
