Acer introduces three new monitors with high refresh rates. It concerns two 4k models with a refresh rate of 144Hz, one of which is aimed at consoles with HDMI 2.1 support. There will also be a 1440p model with a 275Hz panel.
The Predator XB273U NX is a 27″ 1440p monitor that is overclockable to a 275Hz refresh rate and has a specified gray-to-gray response time of 0.5ms. It is a monitor with an IPS panel that provides 95 percent of the the DCI-P3 color space. Nvidia G-Sync is supported and so is NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer. That is the name for a set of techniques that should ensure fast response times. According to Acer, the XB273U NX ‘hdr- capable’, but there is no further explanation such as a statement of the maximum brightness or further clarity about a possible certification via the VESA DisplayHDR label.
Acer also comes with the Predator XB323QK NV, a 31.5″ 4k monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz and Nvidia G-Sync support. It is again an IPS panel. This model contains the VESA DisplayHDR 400 label, with which maximum brightness of 400cd/m² is possible.It is a monitor that meets the minimum requirements to allow a somewhat acceptable HDR display.In addition, the XB323QK NV can display 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and there is support for Acer VisionCare 4.0, which is Acer’s marketing term for a number of techniques designed to help protect users’ eyes during extended gaming sessions or tournaments.
Finally, there is the Acer Nitro XV282K KV. This is also a 4k monitor with an IPS panel, the most notable feature of which is HDMI 2.1 support, taking advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X’s ability to display 4k images at 120fps. can display. Variable Refresh Rate is also possible, although this is not yet supported by the PS5. The 144Hz screen supports FreeSync Premium, has a response time of 1ms and supports ‘Acer HDR 400’. The latter probably means, as with the Predator XB323QK NV, a limited form of HDR where the maximum brightness does not reach too high values and the backlight is not very suitable for it either. This would be striking, because previous reports still assumed reasonable HDR capacities in the form of the presence of a DisplayHDR 600 label and a brightness of 550cd/m², but those elements are not mentioned by Acer now. The Nitro XV282K KV also has VisionCare 3.0 and can display 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space.
The three monitors will be available in Europe in May. The 1440p model costs at least 1179 euros, the Predator XB323QK NV 1199 euros and the Acer Nitro XV282K KV gets a price tag that starts at 949 euros.
