YouTube lets users create temporary playlists on desktop

YouTube has given its display and functionality on desktops and tablets a small update. Among other things, users are given the option to quickly add videos to a playlist, which disappears when they close the browser.

The Add to queue option can be used with videos by moving the mouse pointer over a video, even if another video is already playing. The ability to create temporary lists comes in addition to the Watch Later option, which allows users to create permanent playlists.

Furthermore, YouTube is bringing to the desktop service the ability to exclude channels from suggestions. In June, that option came to the video service’s mobile app. The desktop display has been further tweaked with larger video thumbnails and longer titles. The short previews that the platform shows when hovering with the mouse pointer are now in higher resolution than before.
