YouTube breaks the limit of 2 billion viewers per month

Spread the love

Do you regularly watch a video on YouTube? You are not the only one, the world’s largest video site has 2 billion logged-in viewers every month. That was 1.8 billion a year ago. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said that viewers spend 250 million hours every day watching YouTube on TV screens, which was 180 million hours last year. It also became known that YouTube is working on a secret project with Justin Bieber. The video site organized a summit in New York yesterday, under the name Brandcast.

YouTube Premium

In recent months, YouTube has been busy putting YouTube Premium on the market (which was founded in 2015 as YouTube Red). Users get access to YouTube Originals for a fixed amount per month (€ 11.99) and can watch other videos ad-free. YouTube Music is the music service, where you can listen to music with an unlimited subscription. The video service also has Originals that can be viewed for free, such as Cobra Kai, a sequel to Karate Kid. With 2 billion logged-in viewers per month, YouTube has the largest reach of all advertising-supported streaming services.

Collaboration with Justin Bieber

YouTube itself announced that they are setting up a project with Justin Bieber. The singer owes his discovery to the video service. He posted videos in which he sings covers by Justin Timberlake and Ne-Yo, among others. And that was not without result, because the Canadian singer is now world famous. The video service will develop ‘something’ in collaboration, but calls it top-secret itself. They do dare to announce that it will be “one of the most talked-about YouTube Originals ever”.

Bieber is YouTube’s most followed music artist, with more than 44.5 million subscribers to his channel and 19 billion views. In 2020 we can look at the outcome of the collaboration with ‘Biebs’. By the way, there are rumors that Justin has not been doing so well for a while, as is apparent from his own posts on social media. We are curious about the project with YouTube and would like to see the artist perform and sing again.
