Xiaomi has released an update for the Mi 4 smartphones on Windows 10. The update should fix issues such as screen freezing. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has developed the update in collaboration with Microsoft.

After a Windows 10 Mobile ROM appeared in December for the 4g variant of the Xiaomi Mi 4, it turned out that this ROM was not without its problems. The smartphone had stability and performance issues, and the screen could freeze. The update has to deal with these phenomena. Problems with the camera, alarm clock and charging the phone while it is off should also be resolved.

To install the update, you must use the Windows Insider application. In this, the user must register a Microsoft account and log in with it. After that, a preview version can be selected. Once this has been implemented, updates can then be installed automatically or downloaded via the settings.

Microsoft announced in March 2015 that it was partnering with Xiaomi to make Windows 10 Mobile available for the Mi 4. In December, the ROM was released and Windows 10 could be flashed on the Android phone.
