Xiaomi presents speaker with Google Assistant in India

The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has announced a smart speaker in India. Just like Amazon’s Echo speakers, the Mi Smart speaker has a blue LED ring on top, but works with Google Assistant. Nothing is known about a European release.

The speaker has an output of 12W with a 63.5mm driver on the front. There are two microphones in it to collect sound, Xiaomi says. The speaker is 13.1×10.1cm in size and around 15cm high with a weight of approximately 853 grams. It works with WiFi at 2.4GHz and 5GHz and supports bluetooth 4.2.

The speaker works with Google Assistant. Xiaomi has previously released speakers in its home country of China with its own Chinese-language assistant, but has a model for the Indian market with the Mi Smart Speaker. The speaker comes out for 4000 rupees, currently around 46 euros converted. It is not yet known about a release in countries other than India.
