Xiaomi announces Mi Band 5 wearable with 1.1″ OLED screen

Xiaomi has announced the fifth generation of its Mi Band wearable. The Chinese company has increased the OLED screen by 20 percent compared to the Mi Band 4. The wearable can be connected magnetically to the charger.

The Mi Band 5 from Xiaomi has a 1.1″ color screen with amoled panel and a resolution of 126×294 pixels and a maximum screen brightness of 450cd/m². The dimensions are 47.2×18.5×12.4mm and the weight is 11.9 grams. also an nfc variant, with a weight of 12.1 grams.The Mi Band 4 released last year has a 0.95″ screen with amoled panel with a resolution of 120×240 pixels.

The wearable has 512KB of RAM and 16MB of storage. The battery capacity is 125mAh. The wearable supports Bluetooth 5.0 and is equipped with sensors for heart rate, air pressure and proximity. A three-axis accelerometer and gyroscope are also included. This means that the wearable offers functions such as step counting, heart rate tracker, sleep monitoring and sports functions with support for Personal Activity Intelligence score.

Users no longer need to disconnect the fitness wearable to load it. With the Mi Band 5, a round connector of the charger can be attached magnetically to the back.

Xiaomi has announced its product for the Chinese market and there the Mi Band 5 will cost 189 Chinese yuan, with a price of 229 yuan for the NFC version. That is converted respectively 23.64 and 28.64 euros, but what the wearable will cost in Europe and when it will appear here is still unknown.
