Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will receive an update in May that will make a refresh rate of 120Hz available on the console. The user must connect a suitable television or monitor for this.

According to Microsoft, the high refresh rate is possible at resolutions of 1920×1080 or 2560×1440 pixels. Currently there are no games announced that support the 120Hz mode, but it’s likely that updates do not take long for this.
In April, Microsoft already added support for variable refresh rate . For this the console uses the AMD FreeSync 2 technique. The console has also been given the opportunity to automatically activate game mode on televisions.
Other features that Microsoft adds with the update are the ability to organize games and apps into groups for better overview and the ability to include recorded game play videos to trim the guide.
