The latest test version of Windows 10 includes the ‘Near Share’ function, which can be used to share files with nearby PCs via Bluetooth. In addition, the Edge browser has the option to mute the sound of tabs individually.

Microsoft has made Windows 10 Insider Build 17035 available to participants in the Fast Ring. With the Near Share function, files and URLs can be shared, provided that both systems are running the latest test build of Windows 10, have bluetooth activated and are at a distance from each other within which the bluetooth connection still has good throughput.

The Near Share option must first be made part of the Action Center in the settings, after which it can be activated here. The item sharing menu will then show nearby PCs that also support Near Share. The function is reminiscent of AirDrop, which Apple offers from Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS 7.

New to version 17035 of Windows 10 is the addition of the mute function of tabs in Edge. The browser can now also save epub books that can be found for free on the internet and there is an extra context menu for e-books, among other things to pin books to Start.

Microsoft warns that PCs with AMD processors cannot upgrade to this version due to a bug that causes these systems to perform a bug check during the upgrade. Microsoft is working on a fix to solve the problem so that the block can be lifted.
