WhatsApp blocks users who use unofficial apps

WhatsApp says it has started blocking users who use the chat service via apps such as GB WhatsApp or WhatsApp Plus. This is evident from a page on the site of the Facebook service.

Apps like GB WhatsApp and WhatsApp Plus add features that the chat app doesn’t have on its own, but WhatsApp says it can’t check the security of these services. That’s why it started blocking users of these apps.

It is unknown how many users are with a blocked account due to this step. The blocking can be lifted by using the official app. WhatsApp Plus allows users to see chat history automatically when they switch to the official app. With GB WhatsApp, users must change the name of the folder containing the chats from GB WhatsApp to WhatsApp in a file manager for the app to see the backup.
