A Chinese online store has posted official-looking renders and specifications of the 2018 version of the Nokia 6 smartphone. Where the current Nokia 6 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430-soc, the new one will have a Snapdragon 630.

In addition, Finnish manufacturer HMD has moved the fingerprint scanner from the front of the device to the back, according to the product page on Suning. The design again seems to be largely made of metal, just like the predecessor of the Nokia 6, which appeared last summer.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630-soc has eight Cortex A53 cores and an Adreno 508 GPU, and is also included in the Nokia 7. HMD has added 4GB of lpddr4 memory. There will be variants with 32GB and 64GB storage. The device runs on Android 8.0.

The phone has a 5.5″ screen, measures 148.8×75.8×8.15mm and weighs 172 grams. The housing contains a 3000mAh battery. The specs contradict each other in terms of connections. In the specs list, a micro -usb and 3.5mm jack, but the specs also speak of a type-c charger, which indicates the presence of a usb-c connection. Previous rumors pointed to usb-c, which should provide charging and audio.

HMD will hold an event in China on January 9, where it will likely showcase the device. The manufacturer will probably announce a version for Europe later. Last year this happened at the Mobile World Congress telecom fair, which takes place in Barcelona at the end of February.
