All planned DLC for the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins has been cancelled. Existing DLC will not be removed, but future expansions as additional missions for the single player mode will not be released for Nintendo’s console.

People who purchased a season pass for the Wii U version of the Batman game will be refunded their purchase amount in the form of credits to Nintendo’s eShop. A representative of publisher Warner Brothers stated that the decision not to release future expansions for this system was based “on demand for DLC for the Wii U version of the game.” With that statement by the spokesperson to, among others, gaming website VG247, he insinuates that the demand and therefore the sale of the Batman game for the Wii U is disappointing.

The Wii U version of Arkham Origins has been criticized in reviews. An extensive test by Eurogamer shows that the game has many problems with the frame rate. Also, the multiplayer mode that other platforms have, is not present. The Playstation 3, Windows and Xbox 360 versions of the game will get all the DLC. This isn’t the first case of Wii U being left out in the cold when it comes to DLC. At the end of 2013, it was also announced that the DLC for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag would not be released for the Wii U.
