A remaster of the sci-fi shooter Vanquish has appeared on the Microsoft Store. According to the webshop, the updated version will be released for the Xbox One on February 18, 2020. The game is expected to come to other platforms as well. It is not yet known how much the remaster will cost.

The notification on the Microsoft Store contains some details about a Vanquish remaster for the Xbox One. It is in any case not about the backwards compatible variant, but about a full remaster for the Xbox One. The Xbox One X version will receive support for a 4k resolution in combination with 60fps.

The Microsoft page revolves around the Xbox One version of the remaster, but presumably the game is also coming to PS4. Vanquish was not an Xbox exclusive. The game came out in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC version with support for 4k resolutions followed in 2017.

Vanquish is a sci-fi shooter in which players try to reclaim a taken over space colony from a group of mutineers. The game was developed by Platinum Games, the studio behind Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, NieR: Automata and Astral Chain, among others. The developer previously worked with Microsoft on an action RPG, Scalebound, but this game was scrapped.

The remaster will be released on February 18, 2020, according to the Microsoft Store, but has not yet been officially announced. So there’s a chance that this is an alternate release date. It is unknown when the remaster will be officially announced.

Update, 13:18: There is now also a remaster of Bayonetta in the Microsoft Store. According to the web store, this game will also be released on February 18, 2020, and also supports a 4k resolution with 60fps. Bayonetta, like Vanquish, is being developed by Platinum Games.
