Chinese smartphone maker Unihertz is kicking off a Kickstarter campaign for the tiny Jelly 2 smartphone next month. The Android phone has a 3″ screen and has a housing that is much smaller than that of other smartphones.

The Jelly 2 measures 95x49mm, according to a video from Mr. mobile. The device is 16.5 mm thick. Inside that housing is a 3″ screen with a resolution of 854×480 pixels and an area of 25 square centimeters, with an aspect ratio of 16:9. For comparison: the iPhone SE 2020 has a 4.7″ screen of 16:9 , while virtually all other recent smartphones have screens of 18:9 or longer with a diagonal of 5.6″ and larger.

The device gets a MediaTek Helio P60-soc, with four ARM Cortex A73 cores at 2GHz and four smaller A53 cores up to 2GHz, assisted by a Mali G72MP3 GPU at 800MHz. The phone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The Jelly 2 has 4g and runs Android 10. There is an 8-megapixel front camera and a 16-megapixel camera on the back.

The battery has a capacity of 2000mAh and can be recharged with the USB port on the bottom. At the top are a 3.5mm jack and an infrared emitter to use the phone as a remote control. The device will go on sale for $129 with a Kickstarter campaign next month.
