Amy Hennig, creative director of Naughty Dog, is leaving the studio after ten years of service. Hennig is the author of the Uncharted games for the PS3. It is not known why she left the studio, but according to internal sources, the farewell would not have been voluntary.

The news was originally brought by gaming website IGN, which based the report on “multiple sources near Naughty Dog.” Those same sources claim that Hennig was “worked out” by her colleagues Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, who are responsible for The Last of Us, another Naughty Dogs franchise. Her last day at the studio would have been Monday, March 3. Hennig has won multiple awards for her work on the Uncharted games, including two Writer’s Guild of America’s Video Game Writing Awards.

Sony has partially confirmed the news to IGN. “We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog,” said a spokesperson, “Amy has made significant contributions to the games industry and we appreciate everything she has done for Naughty Dog. The new Uncharted title will not be delayed as a result.”
