According to the social media platform, people continue to turn to Twitter to discuss what’s happening and to find out the latest information from governments about the spread of corona vaccines.
That’s why they are now starting to apply labels to Tweets that may contain misleading information about corona vaccines.

Twitter has been around for a while
Since the introduction of the corona guidelines, Twitter has deleted more than 8,400 Tweets and reported 11.5 million accounts worldwide that they are tweeting misleading information.

Details of tagging tweets with misleading info
Labels are applied by Twitter team members first when they determine that content violates the policy. Those assessments will be used to further inform the automated tools.

Twitter’s goal is to ultimately use both automated and human review to address content that violates corona regulations.

They start with English tweets
They first start with English-language tweets and over time they expand to other countries and languages.

The labels appear in the language you have set and can link to mainly official government accounts that distribute the correct information.
By using an alert system, they hope to teach people why certain content is breaking the rules, so that they have the opportunity to take a closer look at their behavior and their impact on the public conversation.

The penalties are: One warning: no consequences for your account, but for the tweet. Two warnings: 12-hour account lockout. Three warnings: 12-hour account lockout. Four warnings: 7 days of account lockout. Five or more strikes: permanent suspension
