Tikkie has now become established in the Netherlands. The easy repayment of people via an app is popular and now has more than 2 million users. At bunq, however, they think that it is still “a bit” better. The bank already had a similar service called bunq.me but until this week it was only available to its own customers.
Now bunq.me can be used by everyone. With the service you get your own payment page with a link. That link does not expire and you can personalize yourself. For example, you can create bunq.me/jouwnaamhere and you can easily forward that link. On the bunq.me page you can then enter your relevant details (IBAN and e-mail address) and then you are ready.
Because this link does not expire, it is a very useful way to receive donations, for example. You put the bunq.me link on your page or in your bio and then people can donate directly. It is a nice alternative to the built-in donation possibilities that for example streamers and content creators have to deal with.
If someone has that link from you, they only have to click on it to pay via iDeal. They can then enter and transfer the amount themselves. You will receive an e-mail if the person has transferred an amount, so you will also be immediately informed. If you want to ask for a specific amount, you can also add that to the link (like yournamehere / 25). The limit for payments is 10,000 euros, so you have to end this.
The system works so easily. The only sad thing is that those personalized links can all be forgiven only once. If ‘yournamehere’ is already used by someone else you have to come up with something else. Anyway, if that is the only thing that can be said about the service, Tikkie has a serious competitor.
