Sega will re-release three previously released games from the Yakuza series for the PlayStation 4. These are remasters of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5. For now, they will only be released in Japan.

According to Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu, the remaster of Yakuza 3 will be released on August 9, while Yakuza 4 will be available in the fall. The remaster of Yakuza 5 will follow sometime in the spring of 2019. The remaster of Yakuza 3 is said to be almost finished. Sega already has a remaster of the first title in the series available on the PlayStation: Yakuza Kiwami. Yakuza Kiwami 2, a remaster of the second game in the series, will be released in August.

Any polished version of the original Japanese RPGs will at least support full HD resolutions and a maximum frame rate of 60fps. It is not yet clear whether the polished versions of the three Yakuza games will also be released outside of Japan. Sega has not said anything about it yet, but given the well-received Yakuza 6: The Song of Life in the West, there is a chance that they will also be released internationally.
