The cause is said to have been an ‘update made by an international subcontractor.’ In addition to Tele2, other globally active operators would also be affected, although it is not known which ones they will be.

All in all, the outage lasted about a day and a half. In the Tele2 forum topic about this case, it rained complaints from holidaymakers who could not find a network with their telephone at their destination.

Update, 15:11: Many customers in the Tele2 forum topic have expressed their dissatisfaction in the course of this outage and inquired about financial compensation for the downtime. Tele2 says it will look into this now that the service has been fully restored.
