Tamron will release its 17-70mm f / 2.8 Di III-A VC RXD lens for cameras with Sony E mount and APS-C sensor early next year. The bright zoom with optical stabilization gets a suggested retail price of 850 euros.

Tamron’s 17-70mm f / 2.8 lens is suitable for Sony A6000 series cameras. Physically, the lens also fits the A7 and A9 cameras with a full-frame sensor, but the image circle is not large enough to fill the entire sensor with image. The lens is specifically designed for cameras with APS-C sensor.

The Japanese manufacturer had a 17-50 mm f / 2.8 in its range for years. The new lens maintains brightness throughout the range, but the zoom range has been increased to 4.1x. The optical construction consists of 16 elements in 12 groups and the lens has a filter size of 67mm. The length is 119.3 mm and the weight is 525 grams.
