Game publisher Take-Two Interactive achieved a 39 percent increase in revenue in the past quarter compared to the same period last year. 58 percent of the turnover came from DLC and microtransactions.

The share of ‘recurring expenses’, which includes DLC and microtransactions, was slightly lower than in the same period last year, when it was 62 percent. Take Two has quarterly revenue of $540.5 million, compared to $388 million in the comparable quarter last year. Take-Two considers the figures favorable enough to raise its financial forecasts for the coming year.

Speaking to investors, transcript of which can be found over at Seeking Alpha, Take-Two front man Karl Slatoff said Civilization VI is the fastest-selling title in franchise history. More than 5.5 million copies have been sold to date. The game was released in October of 2016 and received a major expansion in February of this year.

Furthermore, Take-Two lists NBA 2K19, Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, the Borderlands franchise, Social Point’s mobile games, WWE SuperCard and WWE 2K19 as its biggest revenue generators.

Take-Two also announced in the conversation that 25 million copies of Red Dead Redemption 2 have now been delivered and that the deliveries of GTA V have passed 110 million. The publisher also has high hopes for Borderlands 3. Borderlands 2 has delivered 22 million copies to date and Take-Two says it wants to exceed that with the new volume.
