Focus Entertainment announces Aliens: Dark Descent. This is a single player game in which players control a squad of soldiers who fight against aliens. The creators call it a tactical game with real-time combat.
Aliens: Dark Descent is created by French studio Tindalos Interactive, in collaboration with 20th Century Studio and Disney, who manage the rights to the Alien franchise. A trailer mainly shows cinematic images, with a short clip at the end that appears to contain gameplay. Screenshots have also been released showing the game from the same perspective.
In the game, players must fight a Xenomorph outbreak on moon Lethe. Players control four soldiers, but not individually. The squad is operated as a ‘one unit’. The four different characters automatically prioritize certain complex actions, based on their skillsets and the environment, according to the creators.
The game will be released in 2023 for the current and previous generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles. On Steam a PC version appears. The cost of the game has not yet been announced.
