Capcom has shipped four million copies of Monster Hunter Rise. That number was reached within three days of release. The action RPG is currently only available for the Switch; a Windows version will follow in 2022.

With four million copies delivered in such a short period of time, Monster Hunter Rise is a success for Capcom. In 2018, Monster Hunter: World shipped five million copies in a comparable period, but that game came out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The new title is only available on one platform.

The action-rgp is well rated by both reviewers and gamers. On Metacritic, the Switch game currently has an average rating of 87 points from reviewers and users rate the game a 9.2.

Monster Hunter Rise is made with the RE Engine, which Capcom has used for several recent Resident Evil games. It is the successor to MT Framework, the engine that created Monster Hunter: World.

The PC version of Monster Hunter Rise is planned for early 2022. A release date has not yet been announced. Publisher Capcom has also not yet commented on a release on other consoles. The Monster Hunter franchise has been around since 2004 and by the end of last year more than 66 million copies of Monster Hunter games had been shipped.
