Students from the University of Twente have developed a way to print images on walls. Computer-controlled lasers are used for this. According to the makers themselves, it is a kind of ‘high-tech graffiti’.

According to the university, the laser printer can be used to place lettering on walls and facades, among other things. Images can also be printed for decoration. The makers claim that the system works in a similar way to a conventional laser printer. However, the printing process cannot be viewed directly, because this is harmful to the eyes. According to the University of Twente, a video stream can be set up to be able to follow the printing process nevertheless,

The wall printer is connected to a computer, where an image is read pixel by pixel, in order to be able to print it. No statements have been made about when this printing method can be used commercially.

Scientists at the University in Cambridge previously made a laser system that can actually remove prints. The portable device can remove any kind of toner from paper using lasers.
