The stable version of iOS 12 comes out next week for iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch. Apple has announced that. The new version of the operating system has been in beta since June.

Simultaneously with iOS 12 watchOS 5 and tvOS 12 will also become available, according to the manufacturer. So far twelve beta betas have been released from iOS 12 for developers since June, and some public test versions have also been released online. The release is no surprise; Apple releases the new version of iOS and derivative operating systems every week the week after the September keynote.

The new version, which comes out for all devices that now run iOS 11, introduces a feature that allows users to gain insight into using their phones and how much time they spend on individual apps. For example, they can set limits. In addition, there is a renewed Do Not Disturb feature, the OS must be faster and more responsive, there are Siri shortcuts and Apple introduces so-called Memoji.

Apple releases iOS 12 this fall for all devices that also run iOS 11. The oldest iPhone that supports that is the iPhone 5s, while the manufacturer supports all iPads from the iPad Air. Also the most recent iPod touch gets the upgrade.
