Sony will release Xperia 1 II smartphone next week for 1199 euros

Sony will release its previously announced successor to the existing Xperia 1 smartphone in the Benelux next week. This Xperia 1 II smartphone will cost 1199 euros and will be the new top model of the manufacturer.

Sony does not mention an exact date and only says that the Xperia 1 II will be available in the Benelux next week. This successor to last year’s top model will cost 1199 euros and will be available in a purple or black version.

With the Xperia 1 II, Sony focuses, among other things, on the camera capabilities. There are three 12-megapixel cameras on the back, with the primary camera having a larger 43mm² sensor unlike the predecessor. The telephoto camera also has more optical zoom: 70mm in full-frame equivalent, or 3 x optical zoom compared to the primary camera.

Furthermore, according to Sony, the Xperia 1 II has a burst mode with twenty frames per second, including maintaining autofocus and automatic exposure. The focus and exposure are measured sixty times per second, according to the manufacturer. Eye autofocus is also available for people and animals, as is also the case with quite a few modern system cameras from Sony. All this should lead to the tracking of fast moving objects.

Some other specifications include the return of a 3.5mm jack, the presence of a 6.5″ OLED display of 15.2×6.5cm with a 21:9 ratio without notch or hole, with a maximum screen resolution of 3840×1644 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz.The device contains a Snapdragon 865-soc and an X55 modem for 5g, though mmwave antennas are missing, so 5g is only an issue on sub-6GHz networks.Furthermore, the Xperia 1 II has a 4000mAh battery, 8GB ram and 256GB flash storage and the fingerprint scanner is on the side, which is integrated in the power button.
