Sony has shown a video in which it compares the loading times and rendering of the upcoming PlayStation 5 against the current PS4 Pro. The manufacturer wants to show that the new SSD storage makes a lot of difference for gamers.

Sony showed the video at its ‘corporate strategy meeting’, which welcomed the press and analysts, among others. The video has been put online by a reporter for the business newspaper The Wall Street Journal. It shows how the ‘next generation’ console loads a game much faster than the current PS4 Pro, due to the faster storage. Sony had previously announced that there will be a fast SSD in the PS5.

The Japanese manufacturer has not published the video itself, but Sony does say about the strategic meeting that the future of PlayStation will revolve around ‘immersive’ and ‘seamless’ gaming. Immersive is about the graphics and loading times, while ‘seamless’ is about streaming game footage via PlayStation Now and Remote Play. PS Now is Sony’s own game streaming service, while users on other devices can play on their own PlayStation with Remote Play.

Sony has slowly begun to reveal details about its next-generation console. It is still unknown when the manufacturer will announce when the game console will be released and what it will be able to do. At least not within a year.
