Sony has shown the Spatial Reality Display, a 3D screen that follows a user’s eyes with eye tracking and can make an object move on the screen based on that. Sony seems to focus mainly on the business market with the screen.

The Sony Spatial Reality Display is a 3D screen, with a sensor above the display that continuously follows a user’s eyes. When a user moves his or her head or eyes, the Spatial Reality Display detects this and makes the device move the digital object on the screen as well. This allows users to view a digital 3D object from multiple angles, says Sony. The screen has a micro optical lens over the LCD, which divides the image for the left and right eyes. As a result, no special glasses are required to use the Spatial Reality Display.

The device uses a 15.6 “LCD panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, a contrast of 1400: 1 and a maximum brightness of 500cd / m². The color temperature should be a perfect 6500K, according to Sony, and the screen should be ‘about’. can display one hundred percent of the Adobe RGB color spectrum. The eye-sensing sensor can track one user at a time and has a range of 25 degrees to the left or right, 20 degrees up and 40 degrees down. The user must be between 30 and 75 centimeters from the display hands off.

According to The Verge, Sony says a PC with at least an Intel Core i7-9700K and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super is recommended to use the screen. The screen has an HDMI port and a USB-C-3.2 port. The display supports Unity and Unreal Engine 4. The Spatial Reality Display measures 38.3×23.2×23.1cm, weighs 4.6 kilograms and has two 1.5W speakers and a 2.5W speaker. The Sony Spatial Reality Display is for sale in November for 5164 euros converted including VAT. It is not known whether and when the device will also come to the Benelux.
