Sony announced a wireless neck speaker on Tuesday. The neck speaker is an alternative to wearing headphones, according to Sony. The SRS-NB10 will cost about 150 euros and will be available from September.

The SRS-NB10 has to be hung around the neck and has two speakers that are aimed at the ears of the wearer. As a result, the sound from the speaker must be audible primarily to the wearer and not by other people in the room, according to Sony.

The bluetooth speaker can also be used for calling, because it also has a microphone. In addition, Sony claims that the speaker can suppress ambient noise and echo. There is also a mute button on the neck speaker, with which the microphone can be temporarily switched off during meetings.

The speaker should last 20 hours on a full battery. The battery can be charged via a USB type-c port. The neck speaker weighs approximately 113 grams and is available in two colors: charcoal gray and white. The SRS-NB10 is splash-proof with an IPX4 rating.

The wireless neck speaker should appear in September of this year. According to Sony, the SRS-NB10 will cost ‘about’ 150 euros.

It is not the first time that Sony has come up with a neck speaker. An earlier version of the wireless neck speaker already appeared in the US in 2019: the SRS-WS1.
