Software Update: YUMI 1.9.9.7 Beta

Version 2 of YUMI is in development and a new beta release has now been released with jersey number 1.9.9.7. YUMI stands for Your Universal Multiboot Installer and is a Windows program that allows the installation ISOs of a large number of Linux distributions to be placed on a USB stick. In addition, there is also support for Windows installation CDs, antivirus rescue CDs or other tools. This means that they no longer have to be burned to a CD or DVD first, but the installation can be performed from the self-starting USB stick. What sets YUMI apart is that several ISOs can be added, which end up as choices in a boot menu. The release notes for version 2 so far can be found below.

Version 1.9.9.7:

  • Modify chain.c32 to address Insane Primary (MBR) partition error.
  • Correct Kaspersky Rescue Disk (Antivirus Scanner) syslinux directory coping issue on Win XP

  • Corrected Disinfect’s misspelling.

Version 1.9.9.6:

  • Add Disinfect’t 2013 (German Antivirus).
  • Fix broken older Parted Magic menu entries.

  • Added provision to ensure menu.32 exists.

Version 1.9.9.4:

  • Added Persistent Option for Ubuntu and some Derivatives.

  • Switch to AutoDetect Size or ISO.

Version 1.9.9.3:

  • Fixed a menu scrolling bug (vesamenu.c32 incompatible with boot.msg?) that occurred with distros like Puppy and KNOPPIX
