Sir Guinhill, as always, faithfully informed us that a new version of Xfire has been released. Xfire is a chat program for gamers and allows you to chat in text and voice both inside and outside games, see what game your friends are currently playing and download game patches and demos via your own p2p network . In version 1.67, various bug fixes have been implemented and the list of supported games has of course grown further. The changelog therefore looks like this:

Release notes for 1.67:

  • Fixed some Xfire In-Game problems with Call of Duty 2.
  • Fixed detection issues with ROSE Online Evolution.
  • Fixed support for Sin Multiplayer.
  • Changed the font used in the infoviews to fix problems with non-ASCII characters with IE7 installed.
  • Fixed some additional issues found when extremely low on disk space.
  • Fixed several problems with group voice chats when they become full.
  • Added typing notification between all users (it used to only be shown for users able to establish direct connections to each other).
  • Fixed an issue that caused Windows to cause an error with Xfire.exe when you open a CD-ROM drive.
  • Fixed Xfire In-Game resizing problem with DirectX 7 games.
  • Fixed updates when running Xfire off of a U3-enabled memory stick.
  • Fixed some weird crashes.
  • New games supported:
    • Digital Paint: Paintball 2
    • The Lord of the Rings
    • The Rise of the Witch king
    • Recallz
    • Star Trek legacy
    • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas.
