Many websites have a forum where users can engage in various discussions with each other. To do this in a well-arranged form, a handy piece of software is needed so that you can assign different rights with which the forum can be managed. XennoBB is one of these forum packages and does its job on a web server with PHP 4.3 or later and MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQLite. The developers have released version 2.0.0 with the following announcement:

I am happy to announce the second release of XennoBB, version 2.0; featuring a complete redesign of the default theme, a redesign of the Admin Control Panel, topic rating system, ATOM 0.3 and 1.0 export and many many other features. Basically, it’s an 80% modification of the old code.

Users of XennoBB 1.x can migrate their database to XennoBB 2.0, upgrading their software via the integrated upgrade.php file. Remember, if you have, for example, version 1.0.4, you must first upgrade to 1.0.5 then to 1.0.6 then to 2.0.0. DO NOT skip steps else you’ll have some serious issues.

The older themes, however, must be converted for use with XennoBB 2. If you have any questions regarding the upgrading, do not hesitate to ask them here BEFORE doing the upgrade.
