Software Update: Xampp 1.8.3

Setting up a web server, especially if MySQL, PHP and Perl must be used in addition to Apache, is quite a bit of work. At Apache Friends they thought so too and that’s why they developed Xampp. This combines the installations of the aforementioned programs, plus ftp and email servers and programs like phpMyAdmin, OpenSSL, Webalizer and SQLite. Xampp is available for Windows, Linux, OS X and Solaris, but the latter two are less actively maintained and a few versions behind. Version 1.8.3 of Xampp has been released and its release notes look like this:
