Software Update: WinGuard Pro 2005 5.7.3

WinGuard Pro has been updated to version 5.7.3. This program can increase the security of a Windows PC. For example, various parts of the system can be blocked with a password, such as the command prompt, disk cleanup, disk defragmenter, display options, folder options, registry editor and the system policy editor. In addition, it can filter internet pages by different words and folders with encryption. WinGuard Pro is free to use, but there is also a Premium version available that has a few more features. The Premium version changes hands for twenty dollars. The changelog for this release looks like this:

  • Bug fixed, Lock Windows Startup now works correctly.
  • Removed Lock Desktop feature temporarily from as it was causing problems on WinXP systems.
  • Bug fixed, user can close password box using the ‘X’ on the dialog–caused some issues on WIN9X systems.
  • Bug fixed, ‘Bad file name or number’ error when encrypting and decrypting single files.
  • Bug fixed, Encryption halted if a file was locked with error ‘Permission denied’, code just continues to the next file now.
  • Bug fixed, ‘Unlock All Programs’ on the tray menu reported wrong item on the password dialog.
  • Bug fixed, the ‘Lock File Download’ option now works with non SP2 systems.
  • Added an warning when encrypted files, as some users where trying to encrypt the whole hard drive.
  • Removed Popup Window option, as it was conflicting with Windows.
  • Added uninstall icon to start menu
  • Uninstaller issues resolved
