Software update: Weave Sync 1.0 release candidate

Spread the love

Mozilla has released the first release candidate of version 1.0 of Weave Sync. This plugin for Firefox and makes it possible to save the personal settings, such as bookmarks, personas and surfing history, in the ever trendy cloud, so that your laptop, desktop and mobile phone look the same everywhere. Version 1.0, which should be ready when Firefox 3.6 comes out, should, among other things, start up faster and have an improved integration with Fennec. Below are the release notes for this version:

Weave Sync 1.0 Release Candidate AvailableWeave Sync is almost ready for 1.0 based on the feedback from our beta releases, and people are excited to get their personal Firefox experience on their laptop, desktop and mobile devices. We’ve addressed a few issues of rough edges that some users noticed and made a few changes to improve the overall experience.

What’s changed in this RC?

  • Faster startup times for Firefox and Fennec
  • Make tabs available immediately when setting up another computer
  • Automatically use the synced lightweight theme (Firefox 3.6+)
  • Better integration with Fennec UX
  • Avoid triggering master password prompt on launching Firefox

We hope to have a Weave Sync 1.0 in time for the releases of Firefox 3.6 and (Mobile) Firefox for Maemo, so try out those Release Candidates with Weave Sync!

As always, make sure to update Weave Sync on all your computers to keep them syncing and please keep reporting bugs and leaving feedback on our forum.
