Xion writes to us that a new version of VMWare is out. The comprehensive list of release notes is on the site but most importantly, there is support for new operating systems including Microsoft’s .NET software. In addition, there are some improvements to the network support, and some kind of hibernate function is built in. The list of new OS’s:
- Microsoft® Windows® .NET Web Server beta 3 (experimental)
- Microsoft Windows .NET Standard Server beta 3 (experimental)
- Microsoft Windows .NET Enterprise Server beta 3 (experimental)
- New Linux distributions, including Red Hat Linux 7.2 and SuSE Linux 7.3
- FreeBSD 4.5 (guest operating system only)
- Netware 6.0 guest operating system experimental support (without VMware Tools)
