Software update: TeamViewer 5.1.9290

TeamViewer has been updated to version 5.1.9290. This program allows remote management of other computers via a secure VPN connection. TeamViewer is free for non-commercial use and available for Windows and Mac OS X. However, version 5 is currently only available for Windows. New in version 5 is, among other things, the possibility to use VoIP and it can be indicated which applications may or may not be shared. Since the previous entry in the Meuktracker, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Changes in version 5.1.9290:

  • A new group can be added when adding a new partner to the partner list
  • The remote computer can be locked using the “Lock computer” in Actions menu
  • Invitation E-mails are not limited to 255 characters if the E-Mail client supports more characters
  • Connections using the partner list are logged in the connection history
  • Partner list aliases are added to TeamViewer IDs in the connection history
  • The request for changing the dynamic password after finishing a session can be set to always or never change the password
  • A new button allows adding the TeamViewer ID to the partner list after a session more conveniently
  • The user account control (UAC) is only invoked when necessary
  • Some minor improvements and fixes

Changes in version 5.1.9220

  • Connections to computers using 16 colors can be established
  • Connections.txt is written when using roaming profiles
  • The notification about closed RDP sessions is displayed correctly
  • The host module main window does not show up at incoming connections
  • Some minor improvements and fixes
