Download Sun Java 5.0 Update 9

Pinobigbird has spotted a new version of the platform-independent object-oriented programming language Java and the so-called Runtime Environment for running Java programs on the Sun site. It is the ninth update of the 5.0 branch and can be done via this page can be downloaded as an installation package for Linux and Windows. Compared to the previous release, update 9 has a small number of bug fixes. The only fixes are all related to ‘classes_swing’; what exactly they are can be read below:

• classes_swing WinLAF:Text appears enabled in disabled toggle button.
• classes_swing REGRESSION: XP L&F: on jdk 1.6, preferred size of JToggleButton in JToolbar on winxp is wrong.
• classes_swing REGRESSION: Background of JToolBar can’t be modified under XP look and feel
