Download SpeedFan 4.28 beta 11

Spread the love

The hardware monitoring program SpeedFan has already been provided with the eleventh beta version of the 4.28 series. This small program displays information such as voltages, temperature, the speed of the fans and the SMART information of the hard drive(s). It is also possible, if the motherboard used supports this, to adjust the speed of your fans. To use this beta version you must first install SpeedFan 4.27 and then replace the executable. The announcement looks like this:

SpeedFan 4.28 beta 11

Run this beta, enter the SMART tab, make sure you are connected to the internet, select one EIDE or SATA hard disk, then press the “PERFORM IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS…” and you will be presented an advanced check of your hard disk, including warning, errors and tips. This is a technology preview that uses a database containing statistical data for a lot of hard disk models. Send me emails with your comments, suggestions and (hopefully few) bug reports. This feature simply needs to be able to send an HTTP request. HTTP PROXY settings have been centralized in CONFIGURE dialog.

Beta 11 is one step away from the final release. The overall SMART indicators (fitness and performance) now use a different algo. I would like to know if people think that reported values are meaningful. I would like to get reports from owners of SEAGATE drives. The online in-depth hard disk analysis tool has a brand new database with about 300 hard disks.
