Software update: Recuva 1.53.2065

Spread the love

Piriform has released a new version of Recuva. The name of the program is an alternative spelling for the English word ‘recover’ and that is exactly what the program does. It tries to recover deleted files from for example hard drive, memory card of digital camera or MP3 player. Recuva is free for both private and business use, and is suitable for Windows 7 and higher. A wizard can instruct you to search for specific types of files and in specific locations. This release does not contain any new features, but allows Piriform to collect data about the use of the program in order to determine the direction it will take in the future.

Version 1.53.2065

We’re pleased to announce that the latest version of Recuva has had a small update. This change introduces some basic product usage data reporting so we can understand which Recuva features are being used and which aren’t. This will allow us to decide how we develop Recuva and build features we think our users will like.

Basic product usage reporting, covering:

  • Feature usage (click events, so we can see which features are used and not used)
  • Inactive sessions (a ping will be sent back to our servers every 6 hours so we know if users have decided not to use Recuva anymore)

Note: This is non-personal, statistical data that will be reported so we can better maintain and develop the product. Any data regarding files that Recuva interacts with is processed locally on a user’s device and is not reported to us. For a full list of all data reported by our products, see our Products Policy
