Software Update: qBittorrent 4.3.6

Version 4.3.6 of qBittorrent has been released at the same time as the first beta of version 4.4.0. This open source torrent client has versions for Windows, Linux, macOS and FreeBSD, and shows no ads. The program is with Qt developed and based on libtorrent (raster bar) and boost. The program is the brainchild of French student Christophe Dumez, who has been working on it since early 2006. Today it is maintained by the community. Version 4.3 will only get bug fixes and in version 4.4 the switch to libtorrent 2.0 will be made. The release notes for this release are as follows:

qBittorrent v4.3.6 and v4.4.0beta1 release

The v4.3.x releases will continue strictly with important fixes only and until the v4.4.0 is properly tested to be released as stable. In the meantime there will be a few beta releases of v4.4.0 until it hits stable status. If you use the betas then keep checking back for new betas because you won’t get a program notification for them. Check once a week. The v4.4.0beta1 uses the libtorrent 2.0.x series. A more detailed changelog may be filled later.
