Software Update: PowerArchiver 2010 11.50 RC2

Spread the love

ConeXware released the second release candidate of the archiving program PowerArchiver 11.5 on Wednesday. This program can handle common archive types such as zip, 7z, cab, lha tar, gzip, bzip2, rar, arj, arc and ace. In addition, it can also read CD or DVD images, such as iso, bin, img and nrg. PowerArchiver is available in two different versions: a standard and a professional edition. The first contains everything we’ve come to expect from the old PowerArchiver; the other can also burn CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs, create ISO files and also mount them as a virtual drive, and lastly can also be used as an ftp client. New in version 11.5 is, among other things, support for Windows 7. Also the formats of WinZip 11 and 12 have been introduced and the program has become a lot faster due to multicore support on systems with multiple cores and/or processors. The following changes and improvements have been made in the second release candidate:

Improvements:

  • Better integration with .zipx (new icon, MV, 64bit, etc).
  • Extracting paths in Explorer view based on current location in archive.
  • Better error handling for specific broken zip files.
  • Small burner improvements.
  • Various improvements throughout the program.

Bug Fixes:

  • #1369 – Unicode path issues in backup.
  • #1265 – FTP profiles automatically added several times.
  • #1382 – Batch zip does not store relative path in specific situations.
  • #1372 – Cosmetic issue with displaying unicode filename when right click on file inside archive.
  • #1373 – Allow all lower case names in cfg breaks unicode support.
