A new beta patch has been released for the video editing package Studio 8 from Pinnacle Systems, which has been given a version number of 8.7.14. A number of improvements have been made in this regard. The release notes below summarize the changes:
Outstanding issues:
- Studio locks up editing chapter names
- Audio drops out after dissolve transitions
- DVD burning with 2 or more copies fails
- Make Movie: AV Sync is noticeably bad after 5 min with Mpeg 1 & 2 files
- Studio: Estimated size goes wrong after switch from Capture to Make Movie mode
- Skip to next chapter doesn’t work on SVCD and VCD
- Render an AVI with other than PCM-Sound causes noise in output-file or a studio crash
- Minimal Recompression: Failed to Compile DVD Project with 2 linked Menus
- Capture in SVCD quality does not stop at time limit
What’s New:
- New Feature: Minimal recompression for MPEG
- Studio no longer crashes when entering “Make Movie” mode w/ AV/DV Analog selected
- Make Disk: can compile DVD projects w/3 sound effects and motion menu
- No longer crashes in DVD render with project names longer than 25 characters
- Can now burn VCD/SVCD/DVD with stills
- Fade-out transition at the end of a scene no longer hangs when going to MAKE MOVIE
- Deko: Typing text in a menu button is slow if button album is selected!
