Software Update: Photodex ProShow (Gold) 2.0.1589

Photodex has released a new version of both ProShow and ProShow Gold. ProShow is basically similar to Microsoft PowerPoint, it produces presentations and slideshows with background sound and transition effects. However, ProShow offers more extensive export functions such as exporting the presentation to an mpeg file, a video CD or an executable file. The program is available in two flavors, namely ProShow and ProShow Gold. The Gold version has more possibilities, including multiple effects that can be used and the ability to burn a presentation to DVD, rather than just CD. The changelog of version 2.0.1589 shows the following changes:

• Fixed crash problem with captions below transitions
• Fixed problem with “captions below transitions” on blank slides
• Player now maximizes to correct monitor on multi monitor machines
• Fixed problem with record slide timings stopping after about 16 minutes.
• Changed buffering logic at start of show to improve problems with stuttering at startup.
• Shows which haven’t been saved no longer default to the same filename as the last saved show
• Mouse button down events on the slide list now halt preview playback
• Option to loop web show is no longer improperly grayed out
• Changing the DVD output quality now properly recalculates the size of the show
• Fixed problem where record slide timings wouldn’t work if started from the middle of the show
• Fixed problem with audio not fading if fade time is longer then slide duration
