PassMark Software, known for BurnInTest, WirelessMon and PerformanceTest, among others, released version 3.0 build 1001 of DiskCheckup on Monday. This program, which is free for home use, allows the health of the hard drive to be monitored. This is done by reading the registers of hard drives equipped with SMART technology. If certain values are exceeded, the program can send an e-mail. DiskCheckup works with most hard drives, with the exception of scsi and raid setups. PassMark Software has not disclosed what has changed in this release.
