Software Update: OpenTTD 0.7.2

Spread the love

This week the second update was released for the 0.7.0 version of OpenTTD, which was released at the beginning of April. In this open source clone of the Microprose game Transport Tycoon Deluxe, the goal is to build a transport empire by road, rail, water and air. OpenTTD is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, and can do more than just mimic the game. For example, up to 64 times larger maps can be used than in the original, the AI is worthy of its name and up to eight players can participate in a multiplayer game. Note that OpenTTD still needs data files from the original game. In version 0.7.2, among other things, the way in which payment is made for the transport of goods has been improved. The release notes of this version can be found below:

OpenTTD 0.7.2

We’ve done it again. What? Well, we have released another bugfix release of the 0.7 series. This release changes how vehicle payments happen, so now you will get paid when the vehicle is unloaded instead of when it starts unloading. This fixes lots of ‘exploits’ that allowed people to get more payment than they should have gotten.
