Download nLite 1.2.0 release candidate
Less than a week ago we introduced nLite version 1.2.0 beta to you and since yesterday the release candidate of the same version number is ready for you. With nLite, a custom-build Windows 2000, XP, or 2003 installation CD can be created. For example, service packs and critical patches can be integrated, unnecessary components can be removed, and drivers and programs can be added. Afterwards, the whole can be written to an ISO file, which can then be burned as a self-starting CD or DVD. The program needs version 2.0 of the .NET Framework to do its job, but those who prefer not to install it can also use the ‘alternative runtimes for nLite’. These were also updated yesterday and work well with nLite again. The changelog of version 1.2.0 rc looks like this:
Fixed:
- Verify burned files
- Desktop Theme integration when only one .theme file integrated
- Desktop Theme import ‘InvalidArgument’ error
- Cluster service removal was breaking Windows 2003 Enterprise edition
- Windows 2000 command prompt tweak title
- Proper burner selection with multiple drives
- Tweak: ‘Remove Help and Support’ from start menu was missing
- Services showing after removed
- ISO page crash if no recording device in the machine
- Mouse cursors left over if removed
- Domain Group User and Password text box disabled
- NTFS.SYS boot error if more than one SP and merged
- Windows 2000 Update Rollup 1 integration
updated:
- 16-bit support component not needed for DirectX install
- Allowed asterisk for Computer Name
