Software update: NewsLeecher 1.0 beta 30 (RC1)

NewsLeecher has released a new version of its eponymous program. NewsLeecher is intended for reading messages and downloading files from usenet newsgroups. The version number is 1.0 beta 30 and it can also be seen as the first release candidate of 1.0. The changelog shows the following changes:

1.0 Beta 30 (RC1) – Released 04 Aug 2004:

• Added option to hide/show Binary Articles.
• Added new ‘Is Article a Binary?’ filter. It’s possible to setup NewsLeecher to look at the article subject and the article size to determine whether an article is a binary or not.
• Added a “Show Non-Binaries” filter checkbox to the active group view.
• Added option, for registered NewsLeecher users, to turn-off the footer saying “Posted with NewsLeecher” when posting an article to the usenet.
• The ‘Downloaded Articles ID’ list will be autosaved every minute.
• The ‘Unpause First .PAR2 when importing NZB’ option has been changed to ‘Unpause Empty .PAR2 when importing NZB’. This makes sure that only the smallest .PAR2 gets downloaded.
• Moved the small transfer graph to the status bar.
• Restructured the ‘Show/Hide … ‘ filters on the active group toolbar.
• Lots of optimizations and improvements.
• Many small fixes.
