Download Mozilla Thunderbird 8.0

The Mozilla Foundation has released Thunderbird version 8.0. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source client for mail and newsgroups, with features such as support for different mail and news accounts, a junk mail filter, spell checker and a customizable appearance. Version 8 is based on the latest version of Mozilla Gecko, which should lead to better performance, among other things. We also see improvements in the search functionality and of course a lot of bug fixes have been implemented. The release notes for this version can be found below.

The latest version of Thunderbird has the following changes:

• Thunderbird is based on the new Mozilla Gecko 8 engine
• Add-ons installed by third party programs are now disabled by default
• New Search and Find Shortcuts
• Improved accessibility of the attachment list
• Folder switching pane widget removed
• Numerous platform fixes to stability
• Fixed several security issues
