Software Update: Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0.5

The Mozilla Foundation has released the fifth update for Thunderbird version 3.0. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source mail and newsgroup client with features such as support for several mail and news accounts, a junk mail filter, a spell checker and a customizable appearance. A large number of changes have been made in version 3.0, including to the autoconfiguration module. Furthermore, Thunderbird now uses tabs, messages can be grouped as conversation and the search functionality has been greatly improved. Version 3.0.5 is a maintenance release and brings the following changes and improvements:

What’s New in Thunderbird 3.0.5

Thunderbird 3.0.4 fixes the following issue in Thunderbird 3.0.5:

  • This release improves the performance of indexing messages and accessing profiles stored on a network.
  • This release also improves the unread email notification on Mac OS X.
  • Several fixes to the user interface.
